Martin is a landscape architect in our Glasgow office, with over 30 years’ experience. He works across a number of sectors, but specialises in urban and landscape design, regeneration, development planning, landscape appraisals and heritage landscape conservation and management.
He has delivered a number of prestigious public realm projects, led many urban design projects, and prepared regeneration strategies for numerous towns and smaller settlements. Many of his rural design projects, including sites of landscape and heritage sensitivity, have been award-winning and he has led LUC’s work on historic landscapes in Scotland for 20 years.
His experience includes work on the Inventory of Gardens & Designed Landscapes in Scotland, preparing numerous conservation management plans and notable conservation projects for some of Scotland’s premier designed landscapes and urban parks.
He has entered several internationally short-listed competitions and, for several years, acted as a senior monitor on behalf of the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Outside work: Martin’s interests include free–swimming, skiing, motorcycling, eating and painting.
