Sally joined LUC in 2003. She is a very experienced landscape and seascape planner.

Her areas of expertise include developing methodologies in landscape and seascape character assessment; and applying character assessments to inform terrestrial and marine planning and management.  She has played a key role in developing landscape sensitivity assessments for renewable energy developments, particularly wind and field-scale solar photovoltaics.

Sally’s other specialities include landscape monitoring and managing landscape change. She has produced reports for AONBs in England and Wales as well as the interactive Cornwall AONB Atlas, which was commended in the 2010 Landscape Institute awards.  She also has a number of national research projects to her name, exploring the landscape effects and ecosystem services provided by agri-environment schemes.

As well as working strategically, Sally is hands-on, producing management plans for specific sites and landscapes, including Registered Commons and National Parks.

In her spare time, Sally enjoys aerial hooping, mountain biking and hiking.
