LUC assisted UK Regeneration (UKR) in securing outline planning permission from Central Bedfordshire Council for its first pilot village.
The village comprises 1,500 homes on its large scale strategic site in Bedfordshire. The site is east of the medieval market town of Biggleswade, on the A1 corridor, and at the heart of the Oxford-Cambridge Arc.
LUC drove ecological enhancement and Biodiversity Net Gain for the Masterplan. We also undertook a complex suite of habitat and species surveys, ranging from breeding birds to water voles. LUC also provided landscape mitigation advice, including producing the LVIA (Landscape & Visual Impact Assessment) and visualisations to accompany the planning application.
The wider project team includes HTA Design (master planning); Peter Brett Associates (transport, environment, planning); LUC (ecology, landscape and visual impact); Clyde & Co (legal support); Innes England (development consultancy); and Cast (cost consultancy).
