LUC’s Ecologists recently met for their annual away day. This year, the event was held in the Lake District, hosted by YHA Patterdale in Glenridding.
For newer members of the team, this was a chance to meet colleagues face-to-face for the first time. For others, it was an opportunity to catch-up and celebrate the successful 2019 survey season.
The team enjoyed a beautiful morning walk along Ullswater lake to Aira Force Waterfall on a rare clear sky day between Storm Ciara and Storm Dennis. After exploring, the Ecologists returned to discuss performance, targets and aspirations for the year ahead. This was a valuable opportunity to share ideas and develop a deeper understanding of how Ecology integrates with the wider business. The rest of the afternoon was spent undertaking training activities which put wellbeing at the forefront.
The following morning focused on emerging developments in good practice and technical innovation, ensuring LUC continues to offer our clients the very best solutions for their development plans. Then, after another cup of tea and a dog walk, the team said their goodbyes and headed home – ready to face the challenges and opportunities that 2020 will bring.
