LUC named finalist for RTPI Planning Consultancy of the Year

The RTPI Awards for Planning Excellence shortlist has been announced and LUC is delighted to be a finalist for Planning Consultancy of the Year.

The Planning Excellence awards are the most established and respected awards in the UK planning industry. Running for over 40 years, they celebrate exceptional examples of planning and the contribution planners make to society.

Since our foundation in 1966, LUC has provided a unique blend of planning and design services to a wide range of public, private and third sector clients. Our team of 45 planners works closely with landscape planning, heritage, and ecology colleagues to address the most significant and contemporary planning challenges, including:

  • addressing the challenges of sub-regional planning, and developing and appraising strategic options for growth;
  • leading advisers on the future of Green Belts, strategically and locally;
  • advising local authorities and developers on infrastructure requirements and policies, including energy, green and blue infrastructure, open space, community facilities and places of worship;
  • leading experts on the positive use of Sustainability Appraisal, assisting local authorities to achieve sound local plans;
  • assessing the environmental effects of major developments and leading the way in protecting Natura 2000 sites, through Habitats Regulations Assessment;
  • pioneering EIA practice in climate change mitigation and adaptation;
  • creating exceptional places to learn and enjoy sport;
  • facilitating development and change in nationally important and sensitive places – from the New Forest National Park to Kew Gardens.

LUC brings a determination to achieve sustainable development and cares about the legacy it leaves. The range, depth and quality of our work, impressive levels of staff satisfaction and retention, consistently positive client feedback, and engagement with current issues place us at the very top of the planning profession.

The winners will be announced during a ceremony at Milton Court Concert Hall on 24 April 2019.
