Edith joined LUC in April 2013 as a principal GIS consultant, with experience in a broad range of GIS data processing and analysis techniques. She has a strong background in implementing GIS in the field of environmental protection and planning.
She previously worked for the Scottish Executive and the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park Authority, where she gained a valuable understanding of the different governmental environment and planning guidance and the work of different non-governmental public bodies. At LUC Edith specializes in the technical aspects of GIS, for example CZTVs, site selection and multi-criteria assessment, field GIS process workflow, though she gets involved in the whole life cycle of projects, from the initial data preparation and processing, spatial analysis, through to the final preparation of high quality graphical outputs.Edith’s main interest lies in the field of public participatory GIS and ensuring GIS and database capabilities are exploited whenever possible to automate and streamline processes. She is also our in-house Inspire and data licensing guru.
Outside work: Edith is happiest when zooming past lochs and woods on her bike or exploring some random corner of a hill, wood or village.
