Laura joined LUC in 2013 and is a principal landscape planner. Her experience includes: landscape and visual impact assessment (LVIA); strategic landscape and feasibility studies; residential visual amenity assessments; supporting landscape and visual expert witness services at public inquiries; landscape planning advice; masterplanning and detailed design; and public realm and environmental improvement schemes.

Her LVIA work includes wind and solar farms, electricity transmission and infrastructure projects, major residential developments, schools and sports arenas.  Laura is involved in all stages of LVIA, including developing project-specific methodologies, comprehensive baseline studies, consultation with statutory consultees, providing mitigation and design advice, and assessing effects on landscape and visual receptors.

Laura’s involvement in residential, mixed-use and road/ rail infrastructure schemes extends from masterplanning through to outline/ sketch proposals and detailed design.  She has produced detailed planting plans, construction details, landscape specifications and maintenance proposals for hard and soft landscaping.
