Ashburton Park Restoration Project awarded £1.5M with support from LUC
LUC is delighted to have supported Croydon Council in securing a £1.5 million grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) for the restoration of Ashburton Park – a much-loved historic green space in the borough. The project is expected to begin this summer and be completed by November 2028.
The funding will enable a wide range of heritage-led improvements, helping to preserve the park’s history while making it more accessible, inclusive and environmentally resilient. LUC worked closely with the council to shape the successful NLHF application, bringing together our expertise in landscape design, heritage, and community engagement.

Plans include restoring key historic features, enhancing biodiversity, and delivering a programme of community activities to bring the park’s story to life and strengthen local connections.

This is a major milestone for Ashburton Park and a fantastic example of how strategic funding and collaborative design can support healthier, more vibrant and sustainable public spaces.
