We are delighted that Camley Street Visitor and Learning Centre has been awarded highly commended at the 2023 Civic Trust Awards.

Camley Street Natural Park is a nature reserve and Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) in the King’s Cross regeneration area.

Erect Architecture designed the HLF-funded Learning Centre. LUC provided the new landscape arrival experience and setting for the centre.

LUC’s designs included:

• a new landscape setting for the new purpose-built Visitor and Learning Centre,
• new outdoor seating,
• access for all,
• SuDS,
• rain gardens,
• wildlife habitats enhancing the unique quality of the Natural Park

The park has become a crucial green space adjacent to the vast redevelopment of Kings Cross. Since re-opening to the public in October 2021, over 98,000 people have visited, enjoying the café, nature reserve and on-site events.
