Dumbarton Artizan Masterplan enters construction phase
LUC is pleased to announce that the ambitious redevelopment of Dumbarton's Artizan Centre is set to commence its first phase of construction in early 2025, following recent planning approval from West Dunbartonshire Council.

This initial phase focuses on revitalising the town centre through introduction of a new public square and streets incorporating high quality paving, seating, planting and play spaces.
The square will provide a central gathering space able to host events, aiming to enhance community engagement and increase footfall in Dumbarton's town centre.
The redevelopment is supported by the UK Government's Levelling Up Fund, which awarded funding to West Dunbartonshire Council in 2021.
The project will improve connections between Dumbarton Central Station and the High Street and is part of a broader masterplan which outlines a long-term vision for the area, potentially introducing residential and healthcare alongside attractive public spaces.

LUC has played a key role in the development of the project, providing expertise in urban design, landscape architecture and sustainability, working alongside Threesixty Architecture, Civic Engineers, Atelier 10, Savills and Turner+Townsend.
Our involvement ensures that the regeneration aligns with best practices in placemaking, enhancing both the visual appeal and environmental resilience of Dumbarton's town centre.
With experience in transformational urban regeneration projects like Glasgow University and Shawfield, LUC is proud to partner with West Dunbartonshire Council.
As the Artizan Centre redevelopment moves forward, residents and businesses can anticipate significant enhancements to the town's infrastructure, fostering a vibrant and sustainable community hub.
