Jo Wotton to speak on Proportionate EIA at Ireland’s EIA Conference 2025

LUC is pleased to announce that Jo Wotton, Associate Director in Environmental Planning, will be speaking at Ireland’s Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Conference 2025. Taking place at the Midlands Park Hotel in Portlaoise, the event will bring together industry experts, policymakers and practitioners to explore the latest developments.

The event will provide a platform for insightful discussions on improving EIA practices across Ireland.

Jo will take part in the Morning Plenary: Inspiring EIA – Advances by our Neighbours, where she will discuss her role in the Scottish Onshore Wind Sector Deal EIA Task and Finish Group, which is working to streamline EIA processes in Scotland’s onshore wind sector.

This session will also feature Brian Gorman (Department for Infrastructure, Northern Ireland), followed by a Q&A with both speakers.

Later in the day, Jo will co-present a workshop on making EIA reports more proportionate, alongside Josh Fothergill of Fothergill Training & Consulting.

They will explore how to streamline EIA Reports while maintaining effectiveness and addressing challenges such as regulatory expectations and risk aversion.

Their session will also highlight practical approaches to achieving proportionate EIA, followed by an interactive discussion with attendees.

With a packed agenda featuring expert perspectives and thought-provoking discussions, Ireland’s EIA Conference 2025 promises to be an essential forum for knowledge sharing and professional development.
