LUC is proud to be named the third highest-ranking firm with the most female planners, according to a new report by Planning.
The report, "Women in Consultancy: A Planning Insight Report", highlights firms with the highest proportion of female chartered town planners.
LUC has 58% female planners, putting us in third place behind Carney Sweeney (65%) and Deloitte (64%).
LUC's Board Director for Planning, Sarah Young, credits strong leadership commitment, flexible working policies, and female role models for this success.
"We've had directors championing gender parity for 15 years," Sarah says. "This sets a great example and has allowed women to thrive and progress without any barriers."
LUC's flexible working policies, introduced over a decade ago, have also been key.
"These policies are essential," Sarah explains. "They allow people to balance work and family life, like I did when my children were young, without giving up on your career aspirations. Importantly at LUC these policies are not just for working mums and dads – they are inclusive to all.”
"Seeing female role models in leadership positions is crucial too," Sarah adds. "Seeing is believing, as it is hard to be what you cannot see.”
LUC is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we're proud of our progress in achieving gender equality.
