We are delighted to share that the Hagshaw Development Framework has been featured in the Architecture & Design Scotland (A&DS) Annual Review of 2023. The review celebrates architecture and design achievements in Scotland throughout the year.
The innovative framework is set to shape the future of renewable energy development within the Hagshaw Wind Energy Cluster, spanning South Lanarkshire and East Ayrshire. Its primary aim is to facilitate a seamless transition to a sustainable renewable energy landscape while fostering broader social and environmental advantages.
The project also presents a myriad of opportunities for landscape and habitat restoration, as well as extensive recreational activity. Noteworthy initiatives include peatland enhancement, native woodland expansion, and overall ecological enhancements throughout the region.
The collaborative efforts of LUC, NatureScot, South Lanarkshire Council, East Ayrshire Council, and Architecture & Design Scotland have been instrumental in establishing this development framework. Together, we are paving the way for a greener, more resilient future.
