Lake District National Park Authority (LDNPA) has appointed LUC to provide consultancy support for its emerging Design Guide and Code.
The new code will give homeowners, developers, and the local community helpful guidance about what is visually acceptable. It will help them create places and buildings that conserve and enhance the Lake District and deliver sustainable development.
LDNPA is one of 25 areas in England that has secured a place on the Government’s Design Code Pathfinder Programme.
The Place Check app forms a major part of the first phase of engagement and data collection. The app makes it easy for the public to comment on the design of new homes, buildings, and amenities and inform a design code specific to the Lake District.
