As part of our Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (CSER) efforts, LUC recently participated in a community planting day for our Levita House project in Camden.
Ben and Ritvika, landscape architects at LUC, joined local residents and the New Horizons Youth Centre to help complete the planting for this city centre urban greening project.
Levita House, the largest block in the historic Ossulston Estate, has long been in need of green spaces. Our design aims to revitalise a tired courtyard by creating vibrant, functional areas for community interaction.
Organised by the contractor Ginkgo and Camden Council, the team planted around 1,400 plants, creating new spaces for social and community activities.
For Ben and Ritvika, getting hands-on with the planting was a rewarding experience, allowing them to see their design come to life. This project is part of our ongoing commitment to creating sustainable, liveable environments in urban spaces.
Levita House is located in Somers Town, a historically significant area just north of Euston Road. Originally developed as part of London County Council’s inter-war slum clearance, this regeneration project marks a new chapter for the community, enhancing green spaces for all residents.
