Lews Castle Grounds regeneration works complete
The regeneration works at Lews Castle Grounds in the Outer Hebrides have completed on site.
LUC led the successful Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) application for the Stornoway Trust and Comhairle nan Eilean Siar in 2013.
Our team has since successfully administered the delivery phase on site.
Our multidisciplinary design team delivered this project to the highest possible standard. We worked on aspects as diverse as planting design, architectural metalwork, playground design and the restoration of C19th stonework feature walls.
Lews Castle is the only designed landscape in the Western Isles and is ranked as ‘outstanding’ in the Inventory of Gardens & Designed Landscapes. HLF’s support has enabled a comprehensive landscape restoration programme, which is now complete.
