LUC completes LCA for Bracknell Forest
We are pleased to have completed the Bracknell Forest LCA (Landscape Character Assessment) this month.
We were commissioned by Bracknell Forest Council to provide a comprehensive and up-to-date LCA for all land outside defined settlements in the Borough. This will inform the Borough’s emerging Local Plan, and future Supplementary Planning Documents.
The LCA is intended to provide a sound evidence base for policy and development management, guiding development that is sympathetic to local character and the special qualities of the Borough. It also aims to guide understanding of how the landscapes of the Borough are changing (as a result of a combination of natural, economic and human factors), and how they can be strengthened in response.
We also reviewed Bracknell Forest’s approach to local landscape designations, strategic and local gaps, and green belt villages across the Borough, then provided recommendations for the Council’s new Comprehensive Local Plan.
Our client said: “I’m pleased with the final reports, they will be two really useful documents for us.”
