On Thursday, LUC hosted a Mapathon across all our offices and had some clients join us online. We had a fantastic turnout with over 70 participants.
We focussed on mapping East Sepik, Papua New Guinea, which has experienced severe flooding and a magnitude 6.9 earthquake on 24 March.
The goal of this mapping project is to gather baseline data for assessing damaged infrastructure, helping coordinate response efforts, and facilitating targeted relief.
In just 90 minutes, we mapped around 5,000 buildings, showcasing the impressive impact that can be achieved in a short amount of time!
