LUC picks up Sussex Heritage Trust award for The Level in Brighton
We are pleased to be continuing our award-winning month as it’s been announced that we have won a Sussex Heritage Trust award for The Level in Brighton! The project won in the Public and Community category amongst 11 other entries.
The Level is an urban park in Brighton city centre that has evolved drastically over time. Picking up the project in 2009 after a successful Heritage Lottery Fund bid, we worked on restoring the site which had been suffering from misuse, general degradation and a confused layout.
LUC was the lead consultant behind the project, working on recovering the pavilion and creating a new, sustainably designed café amongst a natural playground and skate park. We entirely reinvented the public park and it’s become a popular destination for locals and tourists.
