LUC wins further open space and green infrastructure commissions
We are delighted to have been commissioned by London Borough of Tower Hamlets and Royal Borough of Greenwich to produce evidence to support the development of their open space and green infrastructure policies.
This builds on our strong track record of producing robust and defensible evidence to support the preparation of local plans and site allocations. It follows recent open space studies for London Borough of Lambeth and Hart District Council, as well as previous commissions with Tower Hamlets.
It is an exciting opportunity to put into practice some of the recommendations in the recently published report from the Mayor’s Green Infrastructure Task Force, which sets out reasons for a more integrated approach to planning, designing and funding London’s green infrastructure.
More about the Green Infrastructure Task Force
We have also started working with the London Borough of Camden to prepare the Somers Town Greening Strategy Implementation Plan, a project supporting the regeneration and improvement of the public and community spaces in Somers Town, the home of LUC’s London office for over 25 years.
We are currently at initial appraisal stage examining potential social and environmental benefits of a series of local Green Infrastructure projects as well as their feasibility, with the aim of enabling London Borough Camden to select the most appropriate and cost-effective greening schemes to take forward to implementation.
Multi-disciplinary working, pragmatism and creative thinking help us lead the way in providing support for waste, minerals, green infrastructure and renewable energy developments.
