Sophie Nioche joins Renewable UK Onshore Planning Group
LUC is pleased to announce that Sophie Nioche, Associate Environmental Planner, has joined the Renewable UK Onshore Planning and Environment Working Group.
The recently reconstituted group focuses on advocating industry positions for terrestrial planning and environmental issues.

Key priorities for the next two years include lifting the onshore wind ban in England, supporting planning system reform, addressing co-location and hybrid sites, and developing industry positions on biodiversity and environmental issues.
Sophie Nioche, with over 15 years of environmental planning experience, brings valuable insights to the group. LUC anticipates her contributions to shaping industry positions and influencing policy reforms.
The Working Group, with stakeholders including Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs, and environmental Non-Governmental Organisations, will actively engage in public affairs, communication campaigns, and consultations. Their approach involves providing evidence for planning reforms, supporting network planning for onshore grid developments, and delivering insights on co-location opportunities and barriers.
As LUC and Sophie Nioche embark on this collaborative effort, they aim to play a leading role in shaping the future of onshore wind planning and environmental considerations in the UK. We look forward to building stronger relationships with others in the industry.
