The National Landscapes Annual Conference, a key event for those passionate about our landscapes, takes place this July. LUC is proud to sponsor this National Landscapes Association event.
This year the conference looks to answer two questions:
- What role is there for natural beauty and landscape designation in ever-changing landscapes?
- What are the different ways of working and resilience needed if natural beauty is to prevail in the contested debate on the value and use of land and sea?
The three-day conference offers insightful sessions, field trips to explore protected landscapes and informal discussions at fringe workshops.
LUC’s protected landscape session
LUC is thrilled to bring its landscape expertise to the National Landscapes Annual Conference. LUC is a leading environmental consultancy that understands the intricate relationship between landscapes and the pressures they face, including climate change and its mitigation strategies.
LUC’s experts champion a landscape-led approach to managing change, recognising the vital role landscapes play in providing ecosystem services.
Our team – Kate Ahern, Maria Grant, Rebecca Greatrix, Katrina Davies and Ed White – is excited to lead a session on the new Protected Landscapes Targets and Outcomes Framework, outlining ambitious goals for National Parks and Landscapes.
These goals aim to improve wildlife habitats, fight climate change, increase access to nature, and protect cultural heritage.
