LUC is thrilled to present the Corten Steel sign at Eventide Park. The sign marks the entrance to the northern part of the Rochester Riverside residential development.
LUC collaborated with architectural metal fabricators Watts Construction, DJ Civils and Countryside to deliver the new addition.
The sign comprises a 2m high, 6m long Corten Steel wall with 13.5m of metal fins. Referencing the site's industrial heritage, Corten Steel establishes a connection with the rusted steel structures of the railway arches and viaducts.
The wall's solid section screens vehicles within the park and welcomes visitors. Illuminated cut-out letters amplify the sense of arrival during the night. The metal fins provide filtered views, ensuring openness while preserving privacy. As it settles in, large trees, grasses, and herbaceous plants will soften and harmonise the sign within its surroundings, adding to its allure.
Eventide Park is due to open in September 2023 alongside the opening of Rochester Riversides new Church of England primary school.
