Natural England commissioned LUC to deliver training sessions to 25 Local Planning Authorities (LPAs) to help promote the Green Infrastructure Framework (GIF). The project aimed to gather feedback from LPA staff, senior leaders and politicians, and from those working in health, education and transport.  

The training materials introduced key elements of the GIF. The workshops provided a platform to discuss potential barriers and opportunities associated with the GIF, focusing on practical implementation strategies.

The project's findings informed recommendations for strengthening the GIF's role in creating healthier communities and a more sustainable natural environment. 

The insights will inform future policy and practice related to green infrastructure development.

• Workshop facilitation: LUC experts designed and facilitated interactive workshops, fostering productive discussions amongst participants.
• Data analysis: LUC analysts reviewed and categorised the workshop feedback, identifying key themes and trends.
• Report writing: LUC produced a comprehensive report summarising the workshop discussions, findings, and recommendations.

Through effective workshop facilitation, LUC ensured a diverse range of voices were heard.

This process yielded valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities surrounding the GIF's implementation from the perspectives of various stakeholders.

LUC's data analysis and report writing expertise provided a clear and concise record of the workshops' outcomes. This will serve as a valuable resource to inform best practices in green infrastructure development and policy making.
