About the project
St Paul’s Girls’ School in London was reviewing its site-wide masterplan and sought LUC’s development planning services. Working with the design team led by architects Jestico + Whiles and Bidwells as project manager, we helped secure a resolution to grant planning permission for the next phase of the school’s building programme.
Masterplan proposals
We worked proactively with the planning officer, alongside the design team and the school, throughout the application process. The final masterplan proposals include:
- the demolition of a curtilage listed building and part of a Grade II listed building and their replacement with two new buildings
- internal improvements to the Grade II listed Main Building
- erection of a new maintenance building
- reconfiguration of the car park
- landscaping works
The scheme will have substantial benefits for the school and the community. Flexible gathering spaces throughout the site will encourage collaboration and connectivity. The buildings have been designed to strict criteria to ensure they are sustainable, limiting any impact on, and being adaptable to climate change.
“LUC has not disappointed and exceeded all our expectations. They have been meticulous throughout, offered valuable and consistent advice and worked very well with the rest of our project team, coordinating the submission of a substantial planning application. Jon Grantham and LUC had come highly recommended from various sources and I have no hesitation in recommending them as planning consultants.”
