Innovative solutions for nature restoration

Working as sub-consultants to Accelar, LUC provided guidance on emerging nature market mechanisms to the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs Countryside Trust for various land uses associated with the planned Wild Strathfillan nature restoration projects.

The project aims to enable land use and management changes to improve environmental and social outcomes, benefitting the local community, nature, and landowners.

Sustainable finance solutions

The team harnessed expertise in nature markets to investigate potential long-term financing options and mechanisms, including the theoretical application of existing carbon+ and biodiversity credit mechanisms.

Delivering community benefits

LUC’s team has an in-depth understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities associated with nature restoration projects and green finance.

LUC led an additional piece of work for the Wild Strathfillan project, focusing on identifying pathways for delivering community benefits via the sale of carbon or biodiversity credits.

This involved conducting workshops within the community to pinpoint local needs and priorities and producing a community benefit framework to be used to steer the delivery of community benefits through several identified mechanisms
