About
Doug is a chartered town planner with over 17 years’ experience in local government, civil service and consultancy.
Doug previously worked at Defra on environmental planning policy, including developing national green infrastructure standards; shaping local natural capital planning; developing policy on environmental net gain; and overseeing an innovative pilot project to deliver nature-based solutions to mitigate nitrogen pollution and deliver biodiversity gains.
Doug’s key areas of interest include: sustainable development; green infrastructure; land use change; natural capital and payments for ecosystem services; nature recovery; and climate change mitigation and adaptation.
