Katherine joined LUC in 2016 with 15 years’ environmental experience and ten years’ experience in environmental consultancy and planning. She has led and contributed to numerous environmental assessments including Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Habitats Regulations Assessments (HRAs) at plan- and project-level, and sustainability assessments.
Her experience includes managing EIAs for multi-disciplinary projects that have involved the development of large buildings, campuses, masterplans in the UK and overseas, and for development-related Harbour Revision Order and marine licence applications.
Having worked as part of development design teams, for conservation organisations, and within former English Nature advising on the effects of development on protected species and Sites of Special Scientific Interest, Katherine has a good understanding of the context in which her planning work is undertaken and works towards enabling development to occur with the best environmental outcomes.
Outside work: Katherine plays various instruments (some more competently than others) and enjoys exploring, climbing and canoeing on a sunny day.
