About

Taran is a chartered town planner with 25 years’ experience of strategic planning, including extensive expertise in evidence base studies, plan preparation, spatial options studies and strategic site assessments. Taran has led studies covering a range of policy issues, such as green infrastructure, waste, minerals and climate change.

She is a leading authority in Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), sustainability appraisal (SA) and Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA) having led over 30 SA/HRAs of development plans and appeared at Local Plan Examinations as their SA/HRA expert. She has also provided numerous training courses on SA and HRA for Natural England, Natural Resources Wales, Environment Agency and local authority officers.

In all her projects Taran builds excellent relationships with her clients providing clear, authoritative advice.

Taran was named an RTPI Women of Influence in 2020.
