LUC attends opening of Headstone Manor Park, Harrow
LUC attended the opening of Headstone Manor Park in Harrow last month. Associate Landscape Architect, Alex Massey, represented LUC at the event culminating four years’ work, commissioned by London Borough of Harrow.
The council appointed LUC to rejuvenate the existing recreation ground into a parkland setting for the Grade I Listed Moat and Manor House.
The creation of new sedimentation and wetland basins will improve water quality of the historic moat and wider Yeading Brook catchment. Parkland improvements include:
- upgraded playground
- extensive new path network promoting health and wellbeing
- de-culverted/naturalised sections of the Yeading Brook
- new outdoor learning area
- reinstated fruit orchard
- flood alleviation measures to improve downstream flood risk in Harrow
