LUC’s Historic Environment services extend to south-west England

We are pleased to announce the relocation of our Senior Historic Environment Consultant, Michelle Statton BA MA PhD ACIfA, to the LUC Bristol office.

This move gives our clients in south-west England better access to our historic environment services, working to secure a sustainable future for the past.

A professional archaeologist since 2006, Michelle has a strong background in archaeological fieldwork, research, and analysis (including use of ARCGIS). Following submission of her PhD in 2014, she started working as a Historic Environment Consultant providing heritage advice primarily within a planning context. Having worked previously for two global technical service providers, Michelle has experience of undertaking a wide range of strategic and development-led archaeological impact assessments. Additionally, she has growing experience in built heritage impact assessments, and a robust understanding of setting analysis.

Providing robust, pragmatic advice to local authorities, developers, statutory bodies and NGOs, we are highly skilled in helping our clients understand the opportunities and issues created by change in historic places – and in unlocking the value our historic environment can add.

Our research and policy work puts our team at the forefront, understanding the direction of travel in international and domestic policy and practice, and ensuring we give the best possible advice. Working in partnership with colleagues across the practice, we provide integrated, holistic advice from plan-making to delivery stage.

We welcome Michelle to LUC Bristol and look forward to spending more time on heritage projects in the West Country.
