Hounslow playground work begins
Construction work has begun on four Hounslow children’s playgrounds after landscape design input provided by LUC.
Hounslow Active Spaces is a project in which Hounslow Council brings together LUC designers, academic researchers, and local communities with the aim to.increase physical activity in children and their families and promote the benefits of outdoor play. Four playgrounds are being refurbished across the Borough, with LUC’s designers working alongside idverde UK and Timberplay.
We are also developing an assessment tool to evaluate and monitor the impacts of our play schemes on physical activity, health and wellbeing. This will help us to understand what works and what doesn’t, will build an evidence-base to support future proposals, and will allow us to contribute our findings to the Health and Wellbeing community.
