LUC to produce 2021 Llŷn State of the AONB Report
Gwynedd Council has commissioned LUC to produce the 2021 Llŷn State of the AONB Report. Our Landscape Planners and GIS Specialists will produce an up-to-date picture of the current state of the nationally designated landscape.
The study will present key data to show the environmental state of the AONB. It will be repeatable to help guide changes in future years – including through the AONB management plan. The team has worked closely with the Llŷn AONB since undertaking the first landscape monitoring project in 2008. Since then, we have re-visited the same ‘monitoring indicators’ to understand trends over time, providing evidence to guide the management of the protected landscape. We look forward to continuing our work in this beautiful part of Wales.
LUC has been involved in several State of the AONB reports across England and Wales. We are currently evaluating Natural England’s Monitoring Environmental Outcomes in Protected Landscapes (MEOPL) framework – used by AONBs and National Parks to inform their ‘State of’ reporting.
