LUC is delighted to announce that planning consent has been granted for a new Learning Centre at the world-famous Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
The project, which began in 2021, involved extensive pre-application discussions with both the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and the Greater London Authority.
LUC’s planning team led pre-application submissions and meetings with both planning authorities, as well as Historic England, to ensure the successful outcome.
The new Learning Centre will be a purpose-built facility, allowing Kew Gardens to significantly enhance its educational programmes for school children and the wider community.
Sustainability is at the forefront of the design, reflecting Kew’s commitment to environmental responsibility as a global leader in botanical science.
“We are thrilled to have secured planning consent for this important project,” said Rob Schofield, Associate Director of Planning at LUC. “The new Learning Centre will be a fantastic resource for Kew Gardens, enabling them to deliver world-class educational experiences for future generations.”
This successful outcome is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire LUC team, alongside colleagues at Kew Gardens and the planning authorities involved.
