LUC produces Shropshire renewable energy mapping
LUC has completed a project to produce solar and wind renewable energy opportunity maps for Shropshire.
Shropshire Climate Action Partnership (SCAP) commissioned LUC to contribute to the Zero Carbon Shropshire Plan. The Plan outlines the need for Shropshire to become carbon neutral by 2030 and recommends actions.
We brought our extensive experience of renewable and low carbon assessments for local authorities to map the potential for wind and ground-mounted solar PV developments across the county.
The maps give an evidence base to help SCAP demonstrate to grid operators, potential developers, major energy users and other stakeholders the infrastructure the county needs to reach its targets. They also show opportunities for ground-mounted solar and wind farm development. This will help inform planning decisions to provide a strategic approach to energy development in Shropshire and to promote the development of the local energy industry.
We will present the findings at the Renewable Energy in Shropshire webinar on 20 October. Find out more and register your interest.
