Honouring a legacy
LUC is advising The Royal Parks on the creation of a new garden in The Regent's Park to honour and celebrate the life and service of her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
This project will enhance the Park's natural beauty and provide a space for public enjoyment.
The Royal Parks' Framework
This project is part of LUC's ongoing work with The Royal Parks.
Having been appointed to their planning services framework, LUC brings its expertise to various projects across The Royal Parks estate.
A multifaceted lasting impact
The new garden will serve as a multifaceted tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, offering a place for reflection and celebration of her remarkable reign.
Visitors can explore the thoughtfully designed space, finding solace and beauty in its tranquil atmosphere. Beyond its commemorative purpose, the garden will also contribute to the Park's biodiversity.
Pre-application consultation
LUC facilitated a successful pre-application process, ensuring the new garden design aligns with Westminster City Council's vision and respects the historic environment.
Ecological enhancements
The project incorporates wildlife-friendly features like a pond, meadow and retained tower that will be retrofitted to preserve existing bat habitat and provide additional habitat for local wildlife, promoting biodiversity within the Park.
Heritage considerations
The new garden has been thoughtfully laid out to make the most of the space and create variety, character and interest.
The new garden design complements the Park's historic character and archaeological significance.
