LUC Director running RTPI training masterclass
Joanna Wright, our Director of Environmental Planning, is looking forward to running an RTPI training masterclass on flooding, sustainable drainage systems and climate change next week.
The interactive three-hour webinar on the 16 September will be supported by Paul Blackman from Wallingford HydroSolutions.
Through a mixture of expert trainer input, group work and discussion, the class aims to help participants “understand how planning policy and development management should adapt and mitigate the impacts of climate change, how it affects local communities and how you can plan for effective urban drainage at a national, regional or local level”.
Joanna recently completed an MSc in Carbon Management and Climate Change and is putting this to good use in her work at LUC. For example, last year she authored the climate change chapter in the ICE’s Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Handbook and was recently a peer reviewer for IEMA’s updated EIA guidance on Climate Change Resilience & Adaptation.
