We are pleased to announce that Falkirk Council’s Zetland Park Round 2 funding application to the National Lottery Heritage Fund has been successful. This allows the project to progress to the Delivery Stage, and to see the realisation of several years’ effort as the physical works complete during 2020 and 2021.
On behalf of Falkirk Council, LUC was responsible for developing the Round 2 design proposals and undertaking significant community engagement to produce a package which met the local stakeholder aspirations.
The proposals combine landscape conservation works with measures to improve facilities for all park users. These will allow the park to provide an increased range of recreational activities, cultural events and outdoor education. The large town park in Grangemouth will see a massive transformation. Not only will it receive landscape and infrastructure enhancements, it will also see the restoration of the Grade B listed War Memorial gates and conservation of the Grade C listed Victorian fountain. Other improvements include; a new performance space, a naturalised water feature to replace the former paddling pool, a new inclusive play area, new kiosk, interpretation installations, welcome signage and a pump bicycle track.
We look forward to seeing the finished park.
